Dr Maule and Dr Davies have proposed the following list, in order of priority:

Magnifying Lamps
The increase in skin cancer in this country has become quite significant as more people take holidays in the sun and as the sun in this country becomes stronger due climate changes. GPs have to be able to decide when to refer a suspicious skin lesion to a specialist, and so magnifying lamps help them enormously to get a good look at such lesions. They are also useful for small procedures such as removing stitches, and can be extremely handy when checking eye conditions. Each magnifying lamp will cost £280.

Examination Lamps
Examination lamps greatly assist the proper examination of patients. Recent advances in technology mean that examination lamps have become more flexible and powerful. They also use cold light technology, which reduces the risk of injury to both doctor and patient. Each examination lamp will cost £425.

Examination Couches
The surgery wishes to upgrade its examination couches so that they can be easier to get on and off and also to ensure that patients are at the right height for examinations or procedures. Whilst we already have one variable height couch in the nurse's room, it is our aim to make these available in all rooms if at all possible. Each new examination couch will cost £450.
